The Bori Lab is directed by Dr. Jessica M. González-Vargas from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University. Dr. González-Vargas is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and earned her Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. She also received her M.S from The Pennsylvania State University and her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
Our lab designs the future of healthcare by placing people at the center of technology. We integrate human factors, usability, user-centered design, systems engineering, and emerging technologies to improve how individuals interact with complex systems across domains. Our work focuses on enhancing training, education, user experience, safety, and performance by grounding innovation in real human needs and capabilities. Through rigorous research and interdisciplinary collaboration, we bridge the gap between advanced technology and real-world use, creating solutions that are usable, trustworthy, and impactful in practice.
